Retail giant Walmart on Wednesday said India's unique ecosystem of suppliers will help the company in achieving its goal of exporting goods worth USD 10 billion from the country annually by 2027.

Walmart Eyeing Worth $10 Billion Exports From India annually By 2027 - Retail giant Walmart on Wednesday said company's President and CEO, Doug McMillon had a conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on working towards expanding its export base in India.
US-based Walmart said India's unique ecosystem of suppliers will help the company in achieving its goal of exporting goods worth USD 10 billion from the country annually by 2027.
In a statement, Walmart Inc. on its official Twitter handle said, "Thank you Prime Minister @narendramodi for a great conversation. We are working toward exporting $10B per year from India by 2027 and are committed to strengthening logistics, skill development & supply chains to make India a global export leader in toys, seafood & other goods."
Earlier on Wednesday, addressing Indian suppliers and partners, Walmart Inc President and CEO Doug McMillon reaffirmed the roadmap for strengthening partnerships with Indian communities, expanding opportunities for Indian businesses and fostering transformative and innovative solutions for retail from India to the world.
Walmart leadership, including McMillon and Judith McKenna, President and CEO of Walmart International, interacted with a cross section of suppliers, merchants, grantees, artisans and MSMEs across key India programs and initiatives.
These include Walmart Sourcing, Walmart Vriddhi, Flipkart and Flipkart Samarth, PhonePe, Walmart Marketplace, Walmart Global Tech in India, and the Walmart Foundation.
In December 2020, the retailer announced to triple its exports of goods from India to USD 10 billion each year by 2027, endorsing India's continuing rise as a global hub of manufacturing.

Global CEO's line-up to meet PM Modi

Global CEO's are lining up to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of this official state visit to Washington DC on June 22 at the invitation of US president Joe Biden. Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will also host Modi for a state dinner during the visit.
PM Modi is expected to meet top business leaders during his state visit.
A day earlier, Global networking giant Cisco Chair and CEO Chuck Robbins on Wednesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and discussed how the company has doubled down on manufacturing to boost exports from the country.
Earlier, Apple CEO Tim Cook met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, underscoring that the company shares his vision of "positive impact technology" and is committed to investing across the country.
PM Modi has also accepted French President Emmanuel Macron's invitation to be the guest of honour at France's traditional military parade held during Bastille day, on 14th July.
