The Indian shooter had a memorable interaction with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi following her stupendous performance at the Paralympics 2020.

In an exclusive interaction with Times Now after her sensational performance in the Paralympic Games, gold medallist Lekhara spoke at length about her telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Modi. Speaking to Times Now's Padmaja Joshi, the Indian paralympian revealed that she was starstruck while talking to Prime Minister Modi.

"I was starstruck when I talked to him. It was my first time. It was one of the most special moments of my life. It's like the surroundings went all blank, no noise was coming apart from the phone. So yeah, I would like to meet him again and have a talk. It's something which I think will happen at the moment. I don't want to pre-decide it," Lekhara said during the special interaction.

Elated by the sensational performances of Lekhara at the Tokyo Games 2020, PM Modi had congratulated the Indian shooter for clinching gold and bronze medals. Not just PM Modi but the entire sports fraternity was full of praise for Lekhara after the Indian shooter entered her name in the history books at the Tokyo Paralympics 2020.

Lekhara is the first Indian woman to win twin medals in the Paralympics. In the quest to secure India's first of the five gold medals at the Tokyo Paralympics, the Indian shooter managed to set a Paralympic record by scoring 249.6 in the women's 10m air rifle shooting standing SH1 final. Lekhara then won a bronze medal in the 50m Rifle 3P SH1 event. Indian paralympians ended up rewriting history by winning 19 medals at the Tokyo Games in Japan.
